Kosher Mezuzah Scroll

Kosher Mezuzah Scroll (Klaf) handwritten in Israel by a certified scribe, known in Hebrew as a Sofer STa"ם

The klaf is the sacred parchment placed inside the mezuzah case. While the outer case serves as a protective and decorative holder, it is the parchment itself that holds the religious significance. Written on the scroll is the Shema prayer, which begins with the words: “Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One.” Mezuzot are affixed to doorposts in accordance with the Biblical commandment to inscribe these words “upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates.”

These parchments are written in the Ashkenazi tradition on natural, unbleached animal parchment, allowing the unique character and beauty of the material to remain visible.

Tradition teaches that a kosher mezuzah offers both spiritual significance and a sense of protection for those who live in the home. For this reason, each scroll should be meticulously handwritten by a qualified scribe on properly prepared kosher parchment.

Please note that these scrolls are not recognized as Kosher to Chabad standards.

Available in two sizes: Size 7 (approximately 2¾" / 7 cm), which fits most standard mezuzah cases, and Size 10 (approximately 4" / 10 cm).
